A little preparation goes a long way

That holiday feeling: everything taken care of.

Hunting for a charging cable just before leaving or reopening your suitcase to find your passport? There is a calmer way. Set your travel essentials aside a few days ahead and pack by category. Adapt this list to your destination, weather, trip length and personal needs. You can mark anything you do not need as completed.

Pack smarter

More excitement. Less suitcase chaos.

1. Pack outfits, not possibilities.

Lay out complete outfits first. A top that works with several trousers saves space. Plan by day and activity and consider whether you can wash clothes during your trip. Wear bulky shoes and your heavier jacket on the journey if comfortable.

2. Give everything a place.

Packing cubes or small fabric bags keep clothes, cables and laundry separate. Roll robust fabrics and loosely fold delicate clothing. Put liquids in a separate leak-resistant bag. Leave some space for souvenirs instead of filling every corner before departure.

3. Think about your first holiday day.

If checked luggage arrives late, a change of clothes, essential medication and basic toiletries in your cabin bag make things easier. Save the accommodation address and confirmations offline so you can find the information without an internet connection.

4. Work backwards from your flight.

Follow the arrival recommendations of your airline and airport. Add driving time, vehicle handover, any shuttle transfer and a buffer. For valet parking, check the agreed meeting point and calling instructions. Follow your parking provider’s confirmation: reaching the car park does not mean you have reached the terminal.

Prepare for the journey to the airport, too
